Population Growing By The Moment In the article, Shift Happens Statistics of the Day 2-11-08, Mr. Fisch talk about statistics around the world and how great the number of people in this world are rising. He mentions that the population will increase to 438 million people in 2050, up from 296 million in 2005. This amazes me. But then again in his powerpoint it says some pretty amazing things that I never would expect to happen. So this all goes along with the saying "anything is possible". he also metions that the Latino population will triple in size, so it will go up to 29% compared to 19% now. Also, the elerly age will grow double it size, and job shortage will increase slowly. All of this makes me wonder if the world will ever slowly end up in another great depression. Although it is likely, I don't believe this will happen (knock on wood). I am hoping that the future president and the future people of the United States will help wit this, and will do their best to keep the world a happy depression-free country. All in all this helped my mind think outside the box of school and living my life. It helped me go outside and explore the world around us, and what is really happening.

The article I am blogging on is, You’re Probably Not Going to Believe This. This article is about how political canidates are becoming over powered by todays technology. They have their own action figures, yet not as much television comercials. Their popularity is being taken to another level. My question is why does the world need action figures of the fellow presidential canidates when it isn't helping their election. We should be more worried about how the presidential canidates are represented throughout television and their speeches, not how they look in a form of a doll. Also, the point being brought into this article is that they are trying to make people believe a certain thing, or to change their beliefs on ths certain subject. I believe that whatever people believe, whether right or wrong, is their beliefs and nobody should tell them what to believe. We as Americans have the right to express our beliefs and to choose purselves what we want to believe in. Why should we waste time trying to change our thoughts? Its useless and wrong. We should not be forced to believe something other than what we already do, just because the world around us doesn't believe the same thing, or thinks its wrong to think a certain thing. All in all i believe this article challenged my way of thinking of how we should believe. It was a good article, and I know that because not many articles challenge my thinking, but this one did.

Some Friends Aren't Really Friends

Friends The article that stood out most for me under my local news file was, Teen held for manslaughter after giving shotgun to suicidal roomie. It tells how a young manshot himself Monday night, after getting a loaded gun from his friend, Jacob Weiss. The two men had been apparently drinking and conversing about suicide before the incident. My reaction to this article is confused. I don't know if the man purposly handed him the gun, or if he was too drunk to realize wat he was doing. I don't understand why Jacob Weiss would give his friend a loaded gun, knowing that he was suicidle, unless he did it on purpose. My opinion on this is the Jacob got his friend drunk on purpose, handed him the shotgun, knowing that he would kill himself. Yes, I'm saying that i believe Jacob Weiss should be convicted for murder in the first degree, or manslaughter. He was convicted for manslaughter. However, I am still curious why he would do such a thing. Maybe revenge, because he was mentally unstable, who knows. This got me to thinking, maybe you can't trust some of your friends as much as you think you can. It's a crazy world. All in all some people aren't as trust worthy as you may think.

I decided to blog on an article called Local firefighters climb to remember fallen Sept. 11 comrades. It tells about how firefighters climbed the 55 story tall Qwest buliding twice this afternoon, in memory of our fellow, never forgotten New York city comrads from the deadly terrorist attack towards the World Trade Center. I believe that what the firefighters did this afternoon was a true sign that they are loyal to their country and are willing to do as much as they can to prove that. I mean climbing the Qwest buliding not only once but twice to signify the World Trade Center being 110 stories tall, is amazing. If I could I would have been right there next to those firefighters making my way up as well. The terrorist attack seven years ago disgusts me. I can't believe anybody could have that mean of a heart. As a matter of fact I believe they can't possibly have a heart to do something so terrible. Several individuals who were loved by several were lost seven years ago. I can't even describe how disgusted I am of those terrorists. This morning when we did the 9/11 tribute, I was near tears. The sound of that trumpted playing, and the memories of what I saw on television, what I read in the papers, it all overwhelmed me. If my fellow class-mates weren't there in the room with me, I seriously would"ve had tears streaming down my cheeks. And then just now reading that article touched me. It really does show that we have loyal and caring people in this world. It makes it all the better knowing that those people are in the same state as me. It just goes to show you that we really do have good spirited people in this world; they arn't all as sick and twisted as the terrorists that distroyed the families of those people. All in all that article really touched me, and I give great respect to those firefighters who climbed those steps this afternoon.
